Baltimore County & City water-bill lookup

Find the correct water portal, understand County sewer charges, and prepare for a property transfer.

Reviewed October 15, 2026Water & utilities

Which water portal should I use?

Baltimore City provides water-bill lookup and payment for City customers and Baltimore County properties served by the regional public water system. Use the account number or service address shown on the bill. A County mailing address does not mean that the County property-tax portal handles the water account.

Water and sewer are not always on one bill

Baltimore County sewer service charges generally appear on the County property-tax bill. Review both the water account and the County tax bill when researching a County property. Baltimore City and Baltimore County are separate jurisdictions with separate property-tax accounts.

Before you pay or change an account

  1. Match the service address and account number to the property.
  2. Follow the instructions on your most recent bill; Baltimore announced a fall 2026 portal transition.
  3. Ask the billing agency about an unclear balance or account change.
  4. For a sale, let the settlement team confirm the balances, adjustments and required transfer information. An online balance alone is not a settlement statement.

Assistance depends on where you live

Water4All is a Baltimore City assistance program. Do not assume that a Baltimore County customer qualifies simply because City DPW handles the water bill. Confirm eligibility with the program administrator.

Use the source agency’s current instructions for your property and circumstances. This guide is general information, not an eligibility decision or legal or tax advice.
